Hope you're not offended when I tell you what this made me think of: some sort of fantasy crossover with Gundam Wing's Trowa Barton where this is his alter identity or some sort of relation. To me, this is a fantastic linking of ideas. Of course, this piece is amazingly beautiful and striking (quite dangerous looking, actually) all on its own.
