2010 summary of art

i did this last year so i'm jumping the bandwagon again~

now, where to begin.
this was definitely quite a busy year. i might have not uploaded enormous amount of works (with the exception of july) but i also did quite a lot of school works.

i tried developing my style more in the direction of semi-realism. i enjoy this style and plan on working with it more. i believe i know, more or less, where i want to go with my art and hope future years will bring further progress.

definitely the best month this year, drawing-wise, was july. i have my very good looking, albeit a bit on the harsh side, tsundere of a teacher to thank for the wave of improvement. he seriously kicked my artistic ego's ass but at the same time he told me how to fix my mistakes. i grew to acknowledge my weaknesses and the fact that i still have a lot to learn. probably more than i can imagine.

at the same time, i'm also very thankful for my other teachers' advices and praises. i feel i have learned really much and it's only thanks to their hard work and the experience they share with the students.

this year, i finally gained enough courage to start experimenting with drawing armors and weapons. they still look rather dodgy but it's definitely a start. i also had my first encounter with steampunk (i knew and liked it for quite a while now but never dared to try drawing) and i know i want to repeat it sometime in the future.

all in all, i think it was quite a positive year. i'm looking forward to even more progress next year though. keep your fingers crossed for me~
